How is it irresponsible to invest in nuclear energy?

It would be more irresponsible to fail to provide energy to densely populated areas with no access to renewable energy sources. As a matter of fact, the whole world will run out of non-renewable energy sources in a predictable future. Among alternate sources, nuclear energy may be the only or best option in some locations.
