Do you think Chris McCandless's journey is inherently selfish?

That's the thing, his journey was for him and no one else. That's what makes it so admirable. It's not like he left a wife and kids. He went on a personal journey of self discovery. He gave up money, a potential successful future and everything else to live his life. That's very commendable. More people should have his courage.
