Don't you find it strange that you need a license to practice law?
Standing up in court and arguing your case is not the "end-all, be-all" of practicing law. As a matter of fact, that is not even what you learn in law school. Ninety percent of practicing law is knowing how to properly prepare for trial, and anticipating and preparing for the opposition's attacks on your evidence. It is all the rules of procedure and evidence that you have to master. Even the most seasoned lawyers make detrimental errors with disastrous results. Trust me, practicing law is "inherently complex."
